Quick die change products

A variety of products are used in setting up for quick die change. These include an assortment of quick die clamps, cylinders, roll blocks and die lifters. Each of these is designed for a specific quick die change solution.

The heart of the quick die change system is made up of quick die clamps and cylinders. Hilma provides a wide variety of types and sizes, each designed for a particular press or application. In addition to die clamps, Hilma provides a variety of other products for quick die change, including the following:

Die Supports
Hilma die supports attach to the bolster for manual die loading, providing adjustable and portable die positioning outside press beds for fast, safe die changeovers. Some varieties have attached legs that allow easy height adjustment. Removable support arms conveniently mount to the press bolster, and are equipped with hardened rollers for easy loading and unloading.

Rollblock Inserts
Rollblock inserts from Hilma provide a convenient rolling platform for positioning dies during the die change process, and allow die movement in any direction. Easily located where needed, the spring-loaded inserts mechanically hold dies up from the bolster surface during positioning, then compress during clamping to allow die contact with the bolster.

Die Lifters
Hydraulic rectangular rollblocks from Hilma provide a fast, convenient solution to varied die movement requirements. These standardized, roller-type die lifters work with higher operating pressures which provide maximum lift capacity per foot. In stock and ready for delivery, they fit existing ASA (inch) or DIN (metric) T-slots and can be shimmed, if needed, for deeper slots. Hilma die lifters are also available in a mechanical version with spring-loaded ball lifters suitable for use in light dies and small presses. Offered in several lengths and configurations, both hydraulic and mechanical rollblocks provide consistent, reliable operation.
